After reading your reply to my comment. As far as AF goes. I think you will be happy with the 7d, it does a good job for sports which is what I use it for.

But on the noise issue. On your D300, are you talking about noise that shows up when printing an 8.5x11 or are you printing much bigger? If not printing, are you talking about pixel peeping noise at 100 percent on a big monitor? Are you talking about noise in the shadows while pixel peeping? Are you talking about noise that develops if you underexpose and you try to push the image? Are you talking noise in raw images with no noise reduction or Jpg after the engine has applied NR. Do you have an example of an image that you used high ISO on your D300 and found the noise unacceptable?

Do you have any examples of this? I will try to help answer your question but I need to know what you are talking about as far as noise.
