Judging from the photo gray (PGBK) cartridge ink consumption in my Canon MG6120, the Canon driver does seem to apply a liberal amount of gray component replacement (GCR) when printing lower chroma colors as well as neutrals. I would expect this amount of GCR and even more from Canon pro 100 which adds includes another light gray photo cartridge as well.
