If you are on a Mac..... more technical suggestions
In reply to Mark K W, Dec 10, 2012

Below suggestions are all relevant if you are using a Mac....

File access permissions errors can come because of account logins, and which account was used to create folders and files. Have you changed the way you work on your computer recently? Is it a shared computer?

You may need to be logged in as the original folder/file owner or as an Admin account to write or do file operations in folders dependent on which account created them.

You can also use Disk Utiilty (in Applications / Utilities) to repair disk permissions if something has got corrupted.

The error might also appear if you are on a Mac and trying to write your file to an NTFS formatted external disk that someone has for example given you (OS X cannot natively write to an NTFS disc).
