How does the knurled ring work with the proprietary Minolta/Sony hot shoe?
Could it be that the user doesn't know where the 'release button' for the locking mechanism is? I only have Sony/Minolta flash units so I'm unfamiliar with the Metz arrangement.
I tried to find a picture of the Metz version of the Sony 'foot' but all of the images on ebay show a standard (non-Sony) version of the flash unit.
