Dear all,

for 2 months I have a V Lux 3. My other experience with this kind of camera are Lumix FZ 28 and 40/45. I also use a Nikon D 5 100 DSLR.

I know that “blown highlights” are always a problem with this type of camera, but the FZ 150 seems to be worse than the FZ 28 for ex.

Any magic trick to get it better?

There are settings called “I Dynamic” and “I Resolution”.they are described in the manual but not explained.

What do they mean and how can I used them?

The problem for me might be the country I am living in – Thailand. The sun is very bright so we have strong contrasts between light and shadow, many buildings and walls are white, that seems to irritate the camera.

Another problem is the right color. I now use a modified “vivid” setting, it seems to get better but I still prefer the color of the Lumix FZ 28.

Could it be that the CCD sensor of the FZ 28 is better regarding color and contrast than the CMOS used nowadays – maybe this is the magic of the Leica M 9 or M-E?

Best regards

Heiner
