Let me try this again for those that could not understand me the first time.

I am a new owner to a Canon 7D. This is an upgrade from the Canon 30D.

I will be taking pictures of my girls dancing the Nutcracker, a fast action ballet show in a theater with low lighting.

Equipment to be used:

Close up shots of dancers:

  • Canon 7D
  • Canon Lens 70-300 f/2.8 L series lens ( 70mm F/2.8- 200mm F/2.8)
  • Monopod

Wide angle full stage shots/ group shots:

  • Camera: Canon T3
  • Lens: Canon 18-200mm f/3.5-6.3

I would like to use a high ISO to be able to take action shots. Noise reduction on the cameras slows down the burst rate causing delay and missing jumps and other action shots.

Looking for tips in increasing burst rate when taking action shots. Flash can not be used.
