Horrible Result

I observed that the sky is blue and stars are shining. So I put the K5 on tripod with the 77 ltd mounted on and tried to get a star trail shot. The result is totally disappointing. The area is much polluted by city lights so I assume those lights have destroyed the photo. But I discovered big spots on the photo. Are they dirt on the sensor? Any help is appreciated.
