Death Valley-Dec. 24th to Dec. 26th

Hello,

I will be in Death Valley from Dec. 24th to Dec. 26th this year.

I am looking for some good spots for sunset/night photography. I have identified Dante's view and Mesquite Flat Sand Dunes for some sunset photography, but am more curious about night time shots?

I would love to get some long exposure star trails/moon shots with the sand dunes backdrop, but not sure if I can do that at Mesquite.

Are there concerns with traveling to the dunes at night, other than harmless snake bites?

I would appreciate suggestions and recommendations.

I will be having a high clearance jeep on the 26th, so can travel to some off the track spots. So, recommendations are very welcome. On the other days, I will only have a 4WD SUV.
