Remember, I am new to photography, as I said in my original posting.

All I am wanting is to view 10mm sized beetles at 50 to 100 m distance from me (and no I don't want the kind of detail of a person's eyelashes up close, a blurry image where it is obviously a beetle will be sufficient - a single beetle could occupy less than 10% of the image area if it means I can get the photo/video). I know this kind of zoom can be done with binoculars I do not see why not with a camera.

If it can't be done, could someone explain why it can't be done?
