You have made a valid point. To me getting my NEX 5 about 2 years ago was a revolution. I have always shot with small digicams beside my DSLRs but hated the quality.

The NEX changed that. High quality RAW files in a compact body. After I got the NEX I stopped using small sensor cameras till this October where I got a RX100. The RX100 is now my camera when I don't want to take a camera but don't want to take my photos with an iPhone. The sensor of the RX100 is still more than 3 times larger than the sensor in a normal compact.

If I need to decide in between the RX100 and a NEX I would still prefer the NEX.
