I actually don't batch process. I only change the color space on things I am posting externally, and I do it as the last step after PP is done, and just before save.  Since I only want sRGB on the things I send out to the Internet, I don't have any need to do batch conversions.  Of course, if I was posting tons of stuff it would be inconvenient, but for a modest amount it works fine to do them individually.

Of course, if I was not bothering to print anything, and using my output strictly for viewing on line, then I would just use sRGB in as my camera profile and not bother with conversions.  Since, however, I do print on an Epson 3800, my printer output is MUCH easier to get right with AdobeRGB as the color profile of the source files.
