NEX-6 Multi Frame Noise Reduction is now a $4.99 paid app in Playmemories store?

Going for a 1 month trip and wanting to take lite gear, I was in Henry's today looking at the NEX-6. Really enjoyed it. Looking through the menus, no way to fine MFNR which I have on my a55, a65, RX-100. Sony rep was in, and when I asked him, he mentioned he thought it might be a downloadable app. Getting home, I looked it up, and sure enough, there it was in the Sony app store for $4.99. Is this a new trend?, what was included by default from now on we will have to pay extra for it?
