I am willing to try and get used to the EVF. But my first impression was "Yuck!" But other than that, I thought the XE-1 was stellar.
The OVF on the XPro-1 made me want to seriously check out the X100. It was just so cool!
I think a reality check is due, you guys are very hard if something does not meet your wants 100%, 100% is a hard number to get to.
I think you are being a little sensitive or defensive here Joel. None of us "dissed" the EX1, we just found that the XP1 was nearer to that 100% than the XE1 was for us so surely it makes sense to buy that item (especially when as I did, you get a new XP1 and 35mm lens for the same price as the XE1 + lens special deal). If I could afford it, I'd buy the EX1 as my second camera. Its higher res EVF would be right for when I'm using legacy glass when I tend to use the EVF. The fact is that coming from big Nikons with a need to downsize and reduce kit weight, my slightly arthritic hands needed still just that bit extra to hold onto (lack of grip). I also bought the hand grip but still need to buy the thumb rest which will make the XPI comfortable to carry around in my hand.
