The 35mm lens is outstanding.

As for the kit lens, I didn't like it and sold it the very next day I received it. The detail was OK at close to medium distance. At infinity it was disappointing even stopped down to f8-11. No detail at all. If I have to have one single lens that would be the 35/1.4
