Is 35mm F1.4 worth getting if you have 18-55 zoom?

Thanks to all for the very informative replies. I have pixel peeped a bit this morning some images I took with the 18-55 and it seems very good. I don't see virtually any chromatic aberration and the images seem sharp. The OIS seems to be helpful as well.

But the 35mm is "only" $600 or so and I am used to Nikon lenses where that is the starting price point so it seems to be a lot of lens for the money. F1.4 would be helpful at times and would make night shots that little bit easier as well as shallow depth of field.

Also I find it hard to resist to get what appears to be one of the best lenses on the market from any maker for that price.
