Can anyone ID these birds for me?

Sorry for the lack of better detail, but they were a looooong way off from my 250mm.

These were shot tonight here in central Arizona from my front yard. Looking at them with the naked eye they were clearly not identifiable, but with this 100% crop perhaps someone can help me out.

My neighbor(s) told me unequivically that they were ducks via his naked eye, but I am sure he was guessing because of the formation. I thought they were geese until I looked at the 100% crop.

Anyone?
