Took your original and applied (in CS6) Smart Sharpen with Lens Blur correction at 0.5px and 67%.  I then applied a little chroma noise reduction (the image has a LOT of chroma noise in the branches and patterned bark areas (looks like some moire artifacts, actually) which became more evident after sharpening) in the Filters > Reduce Color Noise section at 29% and Sharpen (in the same Filter section) at 30%.

I then applied +5 in Vibrance and +1 in Saturation (both on the Vibrance control).

I did not reduce the image before reposting. If you want, I can do that and post that also.
