I recently got the XE1 and 18-55mm zoom kit lens. I was thinking of getting the 35mm F1.4 which sounds like a super high quality lens. Is it much better than the 18-55 at 35mm? Apart from being able to use F1.4 which could be handy.

I do want to get maximum IQ out of my XE1 and the 18-55 so far seems good and gets great reviews but primes often outclass zooms and reviews seem to indicate the 35mm F1.4 Fuji is one of the best lenses out there bar none. Is that what owners are finding, the 35mm F1.4 is a stunning lens?

Simply, Yes!

I have both lenses and the 35mm is outstanding in low light and for portraits.  Don't get me wrong the 18-55 is an awesome lens but I personally get better results from a fixed focal lens such as the 35mm.
