Only in the last few years have I heard of re-gifting. I never even thought about doing this. Basically I don't see a lot wrong with it since it keeps an item from being wasted in the trash can.
I once had a problem with a gift I re-gifted. Came back after two years. So I sent it out on orbit again. Little waste, joy of giving, no cost(great!).
We think this is amusing but it is how everything works. Carbon etc
