No, that's incorrect. The G3/GX1 did not use an oversized sensor and Panny did not license it to Olympus.

certainly Panasonic did not license that - they couldn't - Olympus does not make sensors - so licensing something makes no sense... Olympus can only buy sensors... and there is a difference between Panasonic not selling (oversized sensors) and Olympus not buying something (for whatever reason).

Thanks for the semantics game, but the point is that Panasonic made a 16mp, non-oversized sensor that they did not provide to Olympus, contrary to your assertion.  If the OMD sensor is made by Panasonic then it would be the first and only time Panasonic has provided Olympus with their top-end sensor in a timely fashion.
