Never tried the 24-105, but I had the original 24-70 Mk I, and the Mk II is much better. Finally a 24-70 that is actually sharp at 70mm! I tried the Nikon 24-70 as well as the Sony 24-70 (Zeiss) both are disappointing at 70mm.
