Is V2 significantly better than V1? Probably not!

The only comment I can make, based on raw samples from review sites, is that V2 doesn't apply raw NR from iso 800 and above that V1 does. That is a good thing IMO. Generally I believe that V2 is comparable directly to RX-100 output which seems to be the best 1" sensor until now.

According to Bill Claff's calculations, the V2 performs more or less on the same level as the V1 regarding photographic dynamic range and thus shadow noise. In contrast, the Sony RX100 values (at least up to ISO 400) look clearly better. See here:

Looks like the V2 will show stronger noise in the shadows, as compared to the RX100
