David,

I agree that the 6D is a fine camera, especially if one is moving from a 5dII, or is heavily invested in Canon glass.

But the poster has no glass investment in either Canon or Nikon.

With that being said, I feel, for a person that is a first time purchaser, the D600 is a more rounded camera and offers a deeper feature set that will allow them to grow and explore over their years of ownership.

I feel you are wrong. As can be seen by tests surfacing now, the 6d is better than at first glance and the d600 is worse (and that is not even taking the problems the d600 is experiencing right now) Pratcical tests will clear up more later, but for now at least for two 'paper specs' (IQ and AF) the 6d is equal or better. Reading initial reviews, the non invested photographer might just decide he gets wifi and gps 'for free' all else virtually being equal - I think the 6d will sell VERY well in spite of what the N fanboys are preaching

From what I can tell, the 6D focuses better in very low light, the D600 has a slight edge otherwise, the D600 has better dynamic range, and noise (at least in RAWs) is a tie.  You could call AF a draw overall but it still seems the D600 has better IQ unless you shoot JPEG.
