Lastolite HiLite vs White Backdrop
|
I occasionally shoot headshots against white (never been a huge fan of white but some jobs call for it...
To date I've used the Lastolite 6x7 HiLite as it's convenient and good for small spaces.
My headshot studio is modest (just 15' x 15') but I'm starting to think I would get better results with a conventional white backdrop.
The HiLite, whilst being convenient, is tricky to get white. Rather, it goes a warm white and requires CTB gels to cool it all down. In addition, I don't get as even a spread as I'd like - even when using two lights to light the interior.
Has anyone tried both techniques, and given the space I have available (for mid shots) does anyone have direct comparisons to tell me about.
Could well be that there is no difference but it would be useful to hear back.
