If those two trollers know how to use the camera, they can produce excellent videos like this one!

Let's break that video down and put it through Sony's current marketing test, shall we?

Sponsored by Sony? Yep, check.

:21 - Sun predominantly in scene, to distract viewer from mushy detailed footage? Check.

:28 to :38 - NOTHING is in focus. Talk about fluff.

:41 - Blown out water and no detail. Typical "halo" effect around the subject, which the a99 is good for. Check.

1:00 Exotic location. A random woman walking in the desert aimed to distract the viewer from no detail. Typical smoke & mirrors. Check.

1:19 - LOL - Time lapse! Congrats, you've found a video that ticks all the boxes! Well done!

2:09 - Wait, there's more! EXTREME wide angle shot. Don't pause it - there's no detail! Was this shot with a VHS camera?

3:03 - Shot with a real video camera, this rocky side of a mountain should look great. Pause it @ 3:03 and you be the judge. Yikes!

LOL You guys can't make this stuff up. I mean come on.

I am a videophile and have thousands of videos in my collection. I rarely see deep DOF in those movies.

The link clearly shows that the A99 is very much capable of artsy / film-like presentation with plenty of shallow DOF. Other links from true videographers also show that it is very much capable of the flipside sharp and deep DOF as well.

I don't know what is your point. In your rantings, it is clear that you do not know how to handle this machine.

He is trolling this forum because of this

"Pretty much sums up the a99. I'm still pi$$ed after losing a few hundred bucks from selling it. I will though spread the word and warn others."
