That's a really nice shot, and exactly the type of shots I am looking to take. It's simply impossible to get anything near that detailed with the 450D. I'd guess it'd be quite difficult (if not impossible) with any APS-C sensor camera. IDK if you noticed, but you got a nice shot of the ISS in that frame as well, just right of center.

I'll be waiting until there's a price drop before making a purchase. Maybe even Black Friday next year if I can hold out that long, heh. Point being, I have time to make up my mind. As it stands, I think the D600 offers a significant IQ improvement over the 5D3, but I'm not convinced if offers enough over the 6D to justify a system change... That said, I will continue monitoring the situation. I am sure over the next month or so there will be numerous direct comparisons between the cameras, and by summer we should have a better idea of how the price will settle on each.

Thanks again for all the help. I understand the test for dynamic range a lot better now. As you can see if you check my profile, I don't spend much time talking about cameras or lenses unless I am considering a purchase. Otherwise I'd rather use the gear than talk about it, heh. It's great that the community is here and available when I need it though!

Edit: Why f8 on the sky shot? Optimal IQ for the lens at that aperture?
