Help T3i so slow focusing, keep missing shots

I found that switching to centre point only made a significant improvement to my infocus keeper rate on my 600D (T3i).  It's pretty easy to do - look at page 85 of the manual.

Also try out using one shot and AI servo autofocus modes.  One shot is more accurate (IMO) for static subjects, while AI servo is designed for moving subjects.  When using AI servo, remember that you need to keep the active focus point on your subject.
