The a99 is a wonderful still camera. Just 'meh' for video.
The funny thing is that before it came out, lots of people were screaming and crying it would be too much of a video camera and that Nikon was the only one for photo purists; now it happens to be a wonderful still camera, and the problem is that it's not a perfect video camera. I see some hysteria in all of this.
I know. We should just really stick to the facts about the a99's poor video. Like this:
Video performance: low resolution, moire, muddy, not sharp, poor for deep DOF.
Ok for shallow DOF.
AF-D doesn't work in video mode
AF Range limiter doesn't work in video mode.
Limited to F/3.5 with Autofocus. Unable to do a "push" autofocus in video mode; it's either auto-exposure, F/3.5 and full time continuous or bust.
Cannot manually set WB in video mode - have to switch to stills mode first.
Cannot use the focus magnification to get critical focus in video mode; have to do this in stills mode - if using the 1.2x cropped image stabilization, the focal point can change.
Tends to blow out highlights and have the "halo effect" with videos.
I didn't just type this all for this forum; had it on my clipboard since I just posted my B&H review of the a99 (where I bought it).
You just don't know how to use the camera for video and you blame the camera hahahha. Anyway, BHphoto deleted your fake review since it is not on their site....
Takes 3-5 business days to process reviews. More clueless-ness from you I see. Why am I not surprised?
It is blatant obvious that you have an agenda when you sold your A99 and loss money. You are posting messages all over the web about your bitterness. Pretty sad!
Ahh, so it's just me with complaints about the a99? Great; I'll start a new thread and reference everyone else on here who thought there were problems with the a99 video. Gotcha.
