I was pretty clear in the article that the beep assumes focus.

Ive been getting a lot of "hate" emails and posts over it, but the take home message is this: That center focus square on the 6D is much better than the other cameras in low light.

For someone who has a camera and are happy with, true- this may be a meaningless test.

For a wedding photographer who shoots in low light, and is choosing between a 6D and D600, my little test might have more meaning.

Thanks!

I am fully with you when it comes to the importance & specially for a wedding photographer to be able to acheive focus in poor light conditions, incl the joy when you found a camera that performs. With the high ISO performance of last generation cameras the AF system is still the main performance bottleneck for many types of photography. And I think the large & sensitive & hopefully high performance 6D center AF sensor can be just fine, it is certainly better with one really good focus-point as compared to many if they are less reliable.

But you can not comment on AF system performance based only on when the beep comes ...
