SX50's EVF? Not good.

Just got the camera only moments ago.  Took only a couple of shots, but feel that the EVF is worse than that of the SX40.  Surprised to see this.  I used the diopter to "fine" tune the EVF, but never seemed to get it dead on sharp.  I was able to get the EVF of the SX40 sharper.  Now the LCD images, on the other hand, find that of the SX50 to be a "no contest" winner over those on the SX40.  But what gives with the EVF?

I have a Canon DSLR and have downloaded the included CD before.  In order to save hard-drive space can I download only the SX50 Manual from that CD?
