Thinking about switching to a Pentax Q

In terms of absolute performance, the Q is no match to Sony's NEX. Not even close. The Sony's larger sensor offers much lower noise in low-light situations, and I find it much easier to capture highlight detail.

The Q is really a high quality toy system and delivers some of the best results I've yet seen out of a 1/2.3" sensor. At it's best, it can deliver pleasingly saturated and crisp images. In lower light, it can be fun if you want a grittier, rougher-edged look.

Basically a rather silly product, but a charming one. I know I enjoy using mine!
