A New Tamron 24-70mm VC or used Nikkor 24-70mm for the same price?

You'll read lots of posts, but most have not shot with the Tamron and are cruising the web for their opinions. Try the lens as I did and form your own!

I did, I had the Tamron for one week before I returned it. Didn't like it for what I paid...

What didn't you like? Maybe you had a bad copy.

The problem wasn't the sharpness. I didn't like the build, the zoom ring stiffness, filter size, AF speed, and some optical things like colors and bokeh didn't please me. I felt like I was using a Sigma 24-70 with VC. The VC is very good BTW.

The Nikkor is significantly more expensive but it's better (not significantly better as the price might suggest) in many aspects and will hold its value for a much longer time.
