Going from a G10 to a 6D... Am I dumb?

Well I wouldn't buy the Nikon just because of the price. I would get it simply because it's a better camera. That said, you won't have the camera forever, and Canon and Nikon tend to leap frog one another in terms of "better" cameras. Right now, I believe Nikon has the advantage. That hasn't always been the case and I doubt it will forever remain the case. But I also wouldn't buy a camera based on the "idea" that I can borrow lenses from friends whenever I need too. I have good friends with both Nikon and Canon cameras, but we don't often ask to borrow lenses. I mean it happens, but it isn't like I am going to run out and buy a camera based on my friends lenses unless I knew I wanted to buy that lens myself! Personally, I think the make or break feature between the two cameras is simply the pop up flash. You get one with the D600 and you don't with the 6D. Granted, the pop up flash is just about the worst lighting in the world. But do you know what it beats: no lighting! Have you ever used a camera's pop up flash? Additionally, if you want to move into off camera flashes, the pop up flash on the D600 can control the remote flash. Canon has a similar system, but it isn't included on the 6D. On the other hand, the 6D has built in wi-fi and GPS. Which would be more advantageous to you? Finally, I tend to agree with DPReview, a lot depends on how well the 6D's AF system works. It is already hampered by fewer focus points, and only one cross hair focus point. So when we start seeing how the camera actually performs, that might sway the decision as well.
