Are you saying to everyone here that you should NOT buy an a99?
I could care less what you buy, its your money, spend it any way you wish.
Or are you saying you don't know how to use it?
Set exposure, focus, hit record, just like every other camera I've used, from a simple P&S to digital beta to my current crop if cameras.

A big disappointment since it can't deliver on the video IQ Sony claims it possesses, and a big part of the reason I bought it.
And fill in the blank.

5. A great camera, and a break through for Sony.
If it shot video that's better than a iphone, yes

I miss something with all these. A tool is a tool. Learn how to use it.
I can get excellent results with every other camera I own and have owned, you don't know me and you don't know what you're talking about or my experiences.
Find something good to shoot. Books? Batteries? Some building that would make Mr. Wright throw up on?

Why are you putting words into my mouth? I've said it repeatedly, I love the A99, I just migrated completely to Sony for the A99 and the video quality is terrible. If you're happy with your camera, enjoy it and be happy.
