TH in his latest article claims that FF production of Nikon is now up to 1:19 from their DSLR total and is of course expected to rise considerably next year since this year was a crippled production because of the whole line revised. He also estimates FF sensor to cost them $250/camera... it seems that FF is about to become the most important part for makers since there is more lenses and accessories associated with it, more profits and capital invested by consumers may exceed the volume of the rest of cameras.

I believe though that $250 for current FX sensors that he claims is way too high... The production has multiplied in the last couple of years and there isn't much variety of sensors. Right now there should be around 2million FF sensors made annually for Nikon, Sony and Canon, it will highly surprise me if current FF sensors cost much more than $100 each to manufacturers... I don't think though that the FX D400 which I am predicting for 4 months now, will come out before D600/6D dust settles!

I can even see Pentax to enter soon the FX game and I don't give it more than 2 years for the first interchangeable sensor camera to hit the market!
