Hello,

i'm debating between the LUMIX G Vario 45-200mm f/4-5.6 G Vario MEGA O.I.S.and the

LUMIX G Vario 45-150mm f/4.0-5.6 ASPH MEGA O.I.S. Lens. The longer lens is actually less expensive! Other than the additional size and weight, is there any disadvantage to the longer lens?

Thank you!

The main disadvantage to the 45-200, besides the extra weight, is that it will likely develop zoom creep eventually. The lighter 45-150 may not, and the 45-175 extends internally. I have the 45-200 and the 45-175. Despite the occasional double image blur issues on my G3, I generally shoot the 45-175 because it's lighter and there is no zoom creep. I find them to be about equal optically. The 45-200 appears to me to have superior OIS, despite its being of the older variety. YMMV.
