is the d7000 an old camera?

I can say there is at least one older lens that makes the D7000 worth getting over say a D5100, the 180mm F2.8D. Also there are SO many more shooting options with the 7000 + better finder with more diopter adjustment range etc etc. It's just a different class of camera and no, a D5100 won't take better pictures, they have the same sensor. From what I have seen, the newest D5200 sensor is incrementally better at best and the lack of control more than offsets any slight sensor advantage.

Also, I still use my olympus E1 which really is an old camera
