I use the Epson 1400 (there are later models, although some still around) and although designated a dye printer by Epson, I - and many others - use pigment inks with perfect results - mine are from inkjetfly.com.  Also, I only print on acid-free watercolour papers - main choice being Canson Montval and Geler Mate.  However, most cartridge and watercolour papers work fine.  Dye inks are OK but the pigment ones work best on these papers.

Zone8: Although I am a handsome genius, when I stand in front of a mirror, I vaguely recognise the ugly idjit standing on the other side!
