For what its worth- After wasting serious money on cameras and lens combinations I discovered that basically any kit zoom lens takes perfectly good landscape photos if proper technique is used. I live in the mountains and hike constantly and have found that the basic 18-50/55 covers most of my needs. I fully realize that good glass will give better quality pictures but I usually view my photos on a laptop or ipad and print 5 by 7. Every once in a blue moon I will come across a picture that I especially like and they print fine larger. My biggest problem was that I was a pixel peeper which is fine but practically hardly anyone blows their pics up 500%. Once I stopped that nonsense I enjoyed my pictures much more. Currently I just use Nex5n and kit lens
