Is there any reason to prefer the 24-120 over the 28-300?

Does 24 mm make a great difference compared to 28 mm on FX?

Is the field of view obtained at the wide end at 28 mm on FX comparable to 18 mm on DX? (I really like the 18-105 DX lens)

Any experiences on a D600 or D800?

Reviews on Amazon are quite positive about the 28-300 lens.

Thanks

I've owned both 28-300's (Nikon's and Tamron's) and used the 24-120 f/4 VR.  I quite like the 24-120 f/4 vr.  I did not keep either of the 28-300 lenses.

The FOV difference from 24 to 28 is quite noticable.  Also the 24-120 is sealed and better optically not just wider and faster.

My use of these was on the d700.
