CPS - and non Auth Dealers

I was going to pull the trigger yesterday on ebay for $2788 (5d3 body only), so I called CPS, and here is what they told me. If you need warranty service in the first year. You must send in the following along with your camera.

1: Copy of US model registration card

2: And copy of actual store reciept. With letter head and logo etc.

3: They have no way of knowing which serial numbers are USA anymore.

So i did not pull the trigger.
