is the d7000 an old camera?

And even when it becomes an old camera, you'd still be more likely to see a D7000 in use than a Canon 60D sometime in the future. Nikon, like a lot of good companies (not just camera companies) has a way of not making you feel like a chump when a new model comes out, especially with the mid level dSLRs.
