Hi Howard, I agree; your pic looks fine to me too, but it's shot at macro and my comment only applies to wide angle pics shot at a bit of a distance. To replicate what I found, try to hold the camera at arm's length, set ISO to 400 or less, take a face pic with the camera at 24mm and see how low contrast detail like hair appears.
