I had the S95, then had the S100, and now have the RX100. Prior to those I had the G9. All the Canons were excellent little cameras and I still like them and miss them but the RX100 image quality is certainly a cut above and there is really no going back. I liked the fact that the histograms remained visible while changing EV on the Canons. The RX100 won't do this. I also don't like that the RX100 will only close-focus at wide angle, but the IQ is more than enough to allay those minor qualms. I usually bring the RX100 while I'm shooting with my NEX-7 just for comparison's sake and so far I've never felt like I've lost anything with the RX100. Yes, you can tell the difference at 100%, but it's just not all that much. My NEX-7 stays home more now.
