Some time ago a group broke off from these forums and set up a flickr group, Nikon DSLR forum. For the past three years we've produced a book full of photos from the members - those who are interested get a spread each showing up to 5 photos (give or take).

Its a wonderful project - being an old fuddy duddy I find it quite remarkable that 64 people from about 20 different countries can all collaborate on a single book project and go to print in about a 5 week working window. All time is given for nowt and only blurb receive any money at all.

And this book - well the first was something very special, but 2 years on from there and standards have certainly risen. A full preview is shown on blurb, you may recognise a few names in there from old forumites...

but the layout is cluttered as if you are trying to cram lots of photos into every page. Just my opinion.

I agree that there are too many images per spread, the more successful spreads for my taste are the ones with just the two images.

But its no real surprise that the members have a spread at their disposal and want to max it. I do like the way that adds variety and a bit of spice. Everyone submits up to 5 images, a few go over, lots below, I give them a few choices of layouts, but the final choice is theirs, something I feel is very important.
