Mono Lake night scene
|
I have wanted to take night shots at Mono Lake for years, but just couldn't find the time. While driving back from visiting some family, I gave myself a one evening detour here. I'm hoping to make it back fairly soon for some more shooting. It is a very interesting place!
I used a mag light to light up the Tufa in the foreground on both images.

Both were shot with a D800 + 24-70- ISO 1600 f2.8 30 sec
Linking from my Facebook and the jpegs get compressed there. I've printed both for local shows I do here (southern Oregon) on metal and even at these ISO and low light the D800 amazes me. The first image is printed 16x24 and shows so much more detail than my previous night images from a D300 even when I shot base ISO!
