What about NEX7/A99/RX100/ and or RX1. They all seen to be top end photographic tools

Of the cameras you mentioned, the only two with a good reputation are the NEX 7 and the yet to be available RX1 which has a fixed lens.

If you can get past the endless procession of prime lenses for the NEX cameras, they are decent for what they are. The RX100 was quite unashamedly a RIPOFF of the Canon PowerShot s100 only it has much more aggressive noise reduction that can smear details in a very undesirable way. The RX1 is a fancy new camera that has trouble with bright scenes and has a single FIXED LENS that can't be changed. And it costs $3000. The ONLY thing that sells it is that it's a full-frame sensor (hence the price) without being a DSLR. It takes nice pictures though. But an album filled with nothing but 35mm equivalent focal-range images gets boring pretty quick.

Totally makes sense. I'd take a 5d3 any day of the week. IMO.
