Street in the Country

Can you shoot street on a rural, country road?
I live in the middle of nowhere 3 1/2 hours north of Manhattan by car. The nearest "city" is an hour drive away. I shoot predominently landscapes, but yearn to shoot street photography.
Are there any suggestions for shooting street in rural settings?
