D300 Auto ISO Function/Behavior

Phil, I'd like to see what you are talking about.  Can you please tell me how I can get my D300 to repeat this behavior?  I haven't seen it, but then I very rarely use AutoISO on the D300.  I do use a D3200 from time to time, and on that model, the AutoISO function seems to work as expected.  Thanks...
