Using i9900, am I missing something using this older printer?

I really like this printer, has very low ink usage and it makes really nice prints once I had a custom profile made by cathy's (had really bad results with any paper makers profiles for some reason, bland unsaturated colors). It's never had a clogged print head or really any issues whatsoever.

I understand the pigment inks dry faster and supposedly last longer, neither is a big concern for me. I also don't print B&W on it. Just curious what the newer printers bring to the table, what is the "ink" usage is like on them etc. Obviously I'd rather not replace it but would be interested in comments from people who had this printer and upgraded to something newer.
